The university graduate study programme Culture and Tourism is designed with the aim of preparing students to work in an intercultural environment within cultural and tourism organizations, to independently conduct interdisciplinary scientific and professional research, perform strategic analyses of the cultural and tourism sector environment, and work in project teams engaged in the development of strategic documents for culture and/or tourism development. Students are also trained to independently create innovative cultural and tourism products, as well as more complex tourism packages developed by destination management companies, based on cultural tourism products.
The interdisciplinary content and approach reflect contemporary thinking on tourism development in a new era, as well as the challenges of sustainable valorization of cultural heritage for tourism purposes. A modernly designed teaching process enables students to establish contacts, become familiar with, and directly participate in the business processes of cultural and tourism industries.
The programme is offered to both full-time and part-time students and is open to candidates of different ages. Upon completion of the two-year programme (4 semesters, 120 ECTS credits), students are awarded the title: Master of Culture and Tourism.
After graduation, Masters of Culture and Tourism can find employment in the public, private, and civil sectors at local, regional, national, and international levels, in various institutions and organizations in culture and tourism. These include advisory and development tourism agencies, museums, destination management companies (DMCs), agencies, cultural associations and foundations, tourist boards or destination management organizations (DMOs), as well as in more complex roles within modern hospitality in cultural tourism and tourism intermediation. Graduates may also become creative entrepreneurs in the culture and tourism sector.
