The Finance and Accounting study program provides the knowledge and skills needed to understand monetary and fiscal policy, as well as to prepare financial and audit reports and maintain bookkeeping records.
Business decision-making in every organization is based on timely, relevant, and reliable information, and the effects of business decisions influence financial stability and business performance, and ultimately the survival of the organization in a dynamic business environment. In this sense, understanding the nature and logic of finance, as well as the background of the information on which business decisions are based, is essential for managers at all levels of management.

The Finance and Accounting program is designed specifically to prepare students for carrying out complex tasks in the areas of finance and accounting, such as preparing investment studies, conducting financial analyses, business performance analyses, financial management, securities analysis, preparing financial statements, tax calculation tasks, supervision, and other duties for which financial and accounting knowledge is essential. In this respect, after completing the Finance and Accounting program and gaining practical experience, students are offered employment opportunities in responsible positions such as financial manager, broker, head of accounting, auditor, tax advisor, financial advisor, and analyst. It is also not uncommon for graduates to assume leading positions in profit-oriented organizations and in the public sector.
Finance and Accounting is a modern study program aligned with the needs of the economy, delivered by a number of professors with rich practical experience and high academic achievements. During the program, students have the opportunity to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge through a wide range of compulsory and elective courses, enabling them to focus on areas of their interest. The modern character of the program and its orientation toward developing a high level of competence in finance and accounting are reflected in the use of modern information and communication technologies in the teaching process. Alongside the indispensable traditional lecture-based approach, students also acquire relevant competences through practical exercises, the analysis of business practice cases, and the solving of problem-based tasks from real business environments, often using modern software solutions.
The program is delivered at two levels: as an undergraduate program lasting three years (academic title Baccalaureus/Baccalaurea – University Bachelor of Economics, univ. bacc. oec.), and as a graduate program lasting two years (academic title Master of Economics, univ. mag. oec.). Participation in European integration processes is also reflected in the alignment of the Finance and Accounting program with similar higher education programs at universities across Europe, enabling students to complete part of their studies at a foreign university.
