Recreational activities are available and free of charge for all university students, and their schedule can be found on the university’s website. The competitive segment involves participation in national and international competitions and tournaments, where the most prepared male and female students represent the university.

Since 2005, student sports teams of Juraj Dobrila University of Pula have participated in numerous competitions and achieved outstanding results. Student athletes from Pula have competed in international tournaments in Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Valencia, Rome, New York, Belgrade, Dublin, Prague, Novi Sad, Ibiza, Madrid, Moscow, Rotterdam, Sarajevo, Córdoba, Istanbul, Beirut, Morocco, Brașov, Thessaloniki, Montenegro, and Bardonecchia (Italy), as well as in many national competitions and tournaments.

At Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, the following student sports teams have been formed:

• Athletics
• UniSport Combat (karate, taekwondo, judo, wrestling, beach wrestling)

The teams are fully equipped with basic sports equipment. Across these disciplines, including both recreational and competitive segments, more than 300 students from all university departments are currently involved.

Sports activities at the university are extremely important for the psycho-physical development of students. Through sport, communication between professors and students, as well as among students themselves, is facilitated. By participating in national and international competitions, students have the opportunity to meet peers, universities, cities, and new cultures, thereby enriching their overall student experience.

With the full support of the university leadership in Pula, the Faculty of Economics and Tourism, the Student Centre Pula, the Academic Sports Association UNIPUSPORT, the Student Union, and other student organizations, students have the opportunity to participate in numerous sports activities. They can choose whether to engage for recreational purposes only or to contribute, through their effort and abilities, to achieving even better results for university teams.
