The International Erasmus Staff Week was successfully held at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković” from 25 to 29 May, bringing together 13 participants from 10 partner universities across 9 countries: Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Serbia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Turkey, and Spain.
The main goal of the programme was to strengthen international cooperation, support and promote academic exchange, and encourage intercultural dialogue. The event provided an opportunity for academic and administrative staff to exchange knowledge and discuss approaches to internationalization, project development and implementation, and interinstitutional cooperation.
Throughout the week, participants took part in lectures, a roundtable discussion, and presentations dedicated to Erasmus+ mobility opportunities and examples of good practice from partner universities. The presentations and discussions also included local and international students, who asked questions, and shared their ideas and experiences.
Also, as part of the programme, student teams presented project pitches developed within joint projects in cooperation between the University of Maribor and Juraj Dobrila University of Pula.
In addition to the academic programme, participants took part in cultural and social activities, including a city tour of Pula and a visit to the Ecomuseum “Istrian de Dignan” in Vodnjan, where they learned about the cultural heritage and traditions of Istria, sustainable agriculture practices, the local gastro-cultural scene, and the museum’s role as a community space for local residents.
The International Erasmus Staff Week once again highlighted the importance of international collaboration and academic mobility, contributing to the strengthening of partnerships and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between higher education institutions.
