The journal Review of Innovation and Competitiveness uses a double-blind peer review process, which means that the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. The review process consists of the following steps:

1. Editorial Desk Review

After paper submission, the editorial office checks whether the paper fits the journal's scope and thematic area and meets basic quality standards. If the paper does not fit the journal's scope, authors are notified of rejection at this stage.

2. Reviewer Selection

If the paper passes the editorial desk review, the editorial office selects two international reviewers whose scientific field and expertise match the topic of the submitted paper.

3. Peer Review

Selected reviewers evaluate the paper using a standardized review form. The form requires evaluation regarding overall paper quality, evaluation regarding specific criteria, and determining the paper category. Overall quality and specific criteria are graded from 1 to 5.

4. Decision and Feedback to Authors

After receiving review reports, the editorial office forwards the comments to the authors in order to improve their paper. Based on reviewer grades, the following decisions are possible:

• Paper is rejected for publication

• Major revisions required

• Minor revisions required or paper may be accepted

5. Revisions and Re-review

Authors submit a revised version of the paper in which they have addressed the reviewers' comments and suggestions. The improved paper is sent back to reviewers to check if the paper has been improved enough to be published.

6. Final Acceptance and Final Version Preparation

When reviewers confirm that the paper has been satisfactorily improved, the editorial office makes the final decision to accept the paper for publication. After authors are informed that the paper has been accepted, they prepare the final version of the paper, which includes the authors' names and personal information.

7. Publication

The final version of the paper is prepared for publication on the journal's website.
