Aims and scope

Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja publishes rigorous scientific papers which make a significant contribution to any field of economics – theoretical, applied or empirical – with special attention given to experiences of the transition from socialism to market economies in Eastern Europe. New research on regional development in other geographical areas is welcomed, particularly papers addressing theoretical and empirical issues in economics for countries in transition and former transitional economies. The journal encourages submissions that explore broad economic topics that can contribute to the development of economics as a discipline, discussing important economic issues both from an orthodox or heterodox point of view.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Entrepreneurial economics
• Development economics
• Economic theory - nano, micro, mezzo and macro
• Innovation and knowledge
• Economic methods
• Sustainability issues
• Challenges to the Science of Economics
• Economics of transition

The journal publishes original research articles and review articles.

Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja is an open-access journal, meaning that papers are permanently available online immediately upon publication. This enables anyone, anywhere in the world, to read, download, and share the entire research paper.

Papers are submitted and published free of charge (there is no submission or publication fee).

Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja is an Open Access journal, meaning that papers will be permanently open to access online immediately upon publication, enabling anyone, anywhere in the world, to read, download and share the entire research paper.

Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja  will publish the content under Creative Commons Attribution- NonCommercial 4.0 International CC BY-NC 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) license that gives permission to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format other  than commercial purposes as well as remix, transform and build upon the material by providing appropriate credit to the original work.

Submission and reviewing

The journal is published four times a year. All submitted papers should be prepared in line with authors' instructions, available at the following link: Author Guidelines. Papers are published in English.

All submitted papers are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert reviewers. They have to pass the editing process with double-blind peer-reviewing. No paper will be automatically rejected on the ground of being too applied or too theoretical; technically skilled papers from any field of economics are encouraged. Authors are required to present their scientific findings in a clear manner and inspirit a broad academic debate on the subject explored in the paper.

Economic Research - Ekonomska istraživanja is an open-access journal, published in both online and print versions. Operating expenses, including the cost of web presence, print version, and pre-press preparations, are supported by Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Dr. Mijo Mirković. Our journal does not accept any form of advertising.
