ARCHAEODIGIT: Study Visit to Italy –...

Project partners, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Municipality of Omišalj, and City of Kaštela, together with representatives from the Museum of the City of Kaštela and the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral in Rijeka, as members of the Local Hubs in the project’s pilot areas, and a representative from the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Pula, who is a member of the Co-creation Workshop, took part in valuable study visits to two Italian museums – the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Ferrara and the Classis Museum and Archaeological Park in Ravenna.

On 17th June, 2025, the partners were hosted in Ferrara by Roberta Cavallaro, Associate in the Collections, Marketing and Public Relations Department of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Ferrara, and on 18th June, 2025 in Ravenna by Valeria Lacchini, Area Coordinator and Site Manager of the Classis Museum Ravenna (Fondazione RavennAntica).

During the study visit, constructive meetings and exchanges of good practice were held related to cultural heritage management, the implementation of digitalisation and innovative digital solutions in museum practice, as well as on involving local communities in the promotion and protection of heritage.

These study visits directly contribute to the objectives of the ARCHAEODIGIT project – the exchange of knowledge and application of best practices “in the field”, with an emphasis on digital transformation and innovation in the management and presentation of cultural heritage.
