During a recent field study visit, students had a unique opportunity to get to know two Istrian family businesses that excellently illustrate the core concepts of the courses Family Entrepreneurship, Organization, Destination Management, and Management.

Deklić Winery tells its story through the fourth generation of the Deklić family. It is a contemporary wine oasis located on the slopes of Vižinada, combining traditional viticulture with innovative design. Although the Deklić family has been involved in winemaking for more than 100 years, their modern winery attracts visitors with its architecturally impressive space and its focus on the wine experience. On an area of around 25 hectares, they cultivate indigenous and international grape varieties such as Malvasia, Teran, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the visit includes premium tastings and an introduction to the production process from vineyard to bottle.

Second-year graduate students in Management and Entrepreneurship, as part of the International Entrepreneurship course, are taking part in a valuable international project in collaboration with students from the Faculty of Logistics of the University of Maribor, working on the development of concrete business solutions for the global company Hisense.

The project focuses on solving a real business challenge presented to the students by Luka Herman, Head of Quality Logistic Services at Hisense Europe, thereby directly linking theoretical knowledge with the practice of one of the world’s leading industrial companies. The project began through online classes at both faculties, and the students were organized into three international teams, which further encourages the development of intercultural competencies, teamwork, and strategic thinking in a global environment.
